Задачи:
познакомить с традициями Англии;
познакомить с историей праздника “День Святого Валентина”;
отработать ЛЕ в устной речи;
активизировать учебные умения и навыки школьников.
Воспитательно-образовательные:
развивать логическое мышление;
расширить кругозор и словарный запас;
повысить интерес к изучению английского языка;
воспитывать уважение к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
Teacher: Good afternoon dear children, students and teachers! We’re glad to see you on our St.Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ll enjoy our party. You may look at the board with Russian text for your better understanding.
Love! Happiness! Beauty! There not so many days in a year when we pronounce these pleasant words. Today, you have a chance to feel the atmosphere of love, to take part in the party-games, to practice the use of some pleasant words and expressions on this special occasion. Happy St. Valentine’s Day!
And now let me tell you some more words about this holiday.

No one really knows the actual origin of Valentine's Day.
Some experts connect Valentine's Day with two saints of the early Christian church. According to one story, St. Valentine's was a priest who would marry young couples against the orders of the Roman Emperor Claudius 11, who believed that single young men made better soldiers. This story goes back to about A.D. 200.
Many old-fashioned Valentine's Day customs involved ways single women could learn their future husbands might be.
The customs of sending valentine cards started in Europe in the 1700s. Commercial valentines were first made in the early 1800s.
Whatever the origin, Valentine's Day is celebrated in many parts of the world today and is a holiday for both young and old.

Ведущий 1: It’s here again, the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours will exchange greetings of affection undying love.
Ведущий 2 : The method of choosing sweethearts on St. Valentine’s Day varied in different times and places. It could be a serious matter leading to the marriage, or it could be a kind of game.
Ведущий 1: What kind of holiday St. Valentine’s Day is?
Ведущий 2: St. Valentine’s Day is a religious holiday, which is celebrated in Great Britain, in many European countries, and in the USA. St. Valentine’s Day has roots in several legends.
Ведущий 1: One of the early symbols of love is Cupid, the Roman God of love, who is represented as a young boy with a bow and arrow.
Выходит Св. Валентин.
Ведущий 1: My sweetheart, look! I can’t believe it! Is it St. Valentine himself?
St. Valentine : my children! I’ve come from the distant past, to remind you of kindness and love, friendship and patience in your wicked world.
Ведущий 2: Do please take us back to the 1st century when the Roman Emperor Claudius II ruled our country.
St. Valentine: All right! I see that everyone loves each other and may your dreams come true.

"This is the legend of how St. Valentine's Day began. When the Roman emperor Claudius 11 needed soldiers, he made a law against marrying because he left that marriage made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars. But at that time there was a kindly priest named Valentine. He couldn't agree with the emperor's decision. When he saw that young couples were truly in love, he married them secretly'.
Выходят юноша и девушка. Перед ними стоит священник.
Священник: My daughter! My son! I declare you husband and wife!
Врываетсястража.
Стражник: Priest, you have been discovered and condemned to death! To prison!To Tower!
Следующая сцена: Священник в тюрьме. Входит тюремщик с дочерью.
Священник: What a beautiful girl!
Тюремщик: This is my daughter. She is blind! She will probably never see the light, the trees !
Священник: I'll help her by working a miracle!
Через некоторое время дочь тюремщика показывает, что к ней вернулось зрение.
Девушка: I'm so grateful to you. Even in prison you, Valentine, showed your love for everyone and restored my sight!
Священник:Unfortunately, tomorrow, on February, I am to die. But I 'm scared and I want to tell everybody on earth, "I love you. I'm your Valentine”
Голосиз-закулис: Just before his death, on February 14, he sent her a farewell message signed from your Valentine'.
And now let’s have fun and play! (делимся на две команды)
We are divided into 2 teams and we are named them. "Romeo" is the name of the 1st team. '' Juliet'' is the name of the 2nd team.

КОНКУРС I
Командам нужно расставить слова в лестницу по количеству букв в них. Когда какая-либо команда заканчивает – конкурс прекращается.
КОНКУРС 2
Нужно разгадать кодовое слово (даны слова, необходимо выписать те буквы, номер которых указан рядом).
КОНКУРС 3
Командам нужно подставить слова по смыслу.
КОНКУРС 4
Команды получают зашифрованные слова. Необходимо из расшифровать, то есть расставить буквы по порядку.
КОНКУРС 5
Командам предлагаются имена известных деятелей. Команды должны из этих персон составить пары.

Знаете ли вы в каком месяце, отмечаются английские праздники?

Жюриподсчитываетсчёт. Выходят почтальоны, рассказывают стихи. (5 класс)
