Theme:Domestic animals
Vocabulary:A cat, a dog, a cow
Speech patterns:What is this? It is a cat/ a dog/a cow. What colour is this? It is brown dog.
Aims:
to acquaint children with the name of domestic animals in English.
to repeat names of colours.
to train children in the correct pronunciation of sounds and words.
I. Procedure of the lesson (25 minutes)

Stage 1 | -to greet children | 3 minutes | Children greet each other and teacher with words: Teacher:Good afternoon! Teacher:I’m glad to see you Pupils:We are too. Teacher:How are you? Pupils:We are O’K. After that teacher shows children their new guest in a group. It is a doll. Children ask guest’s name and guest tells children that she comes to her grandmother from England and understands only English. They greet her. Good morning, Marry. And Marry wants to meet with children. Then teacher asks questions, such as(children ask each other): What is your name? My name is …. What is your surname? My surname is …. | Group work (greeting circle) | Teacher’s task is to greet the children and to motivate them to answer. Teacher’s task is to prepare questions for greeting circle. | |
Part Two. Domestic animals | ||||||
Stage 2 | -to revise vocabulary on the theme | 7 minutes | Our guest Marry wants to know the name domestic animals. Teacher offers to help guest and name them in English. (But at the beginning we train lips and tongue: æ) Teacher show some domestic animals and says children: The first is a dog – o-o-o. It is a dog. It is a cat. It is cow. These are domestic animals. The task is to name the domestic animals teacher shows to children. Children say the name the domestic animals to the guest. | Answer altogether girls, boys | Teacher’s task is to organize children for travelling Teacher’s task is to prepare all visuals on the blackboard to the theme. Teacher’s task is to coordinate the process of revising the words and to correct the children if it needs. | |
Stage 3 | -to develop speaking skills through the dialogue | 6 minutes | Guest invites children to play different didactical games for reinforcing vocabulary and speech patterns. Game 1. Children describe domestic animals and say what colour it is Let’s describe domestic animals for our guest. Children are standing in the circle. Children make a pairs and guest gives every child a card and asks him/her: F.e.: What is this? It is a cat. What colour is a cat? It is brown cat. (Children ask and answer each other of domestic animals in the circle) Guest thanks children for help. | Circle game (dialogue) Table game with cards and handouts | Teacher’s task is to prepare all visuals and handouts for games Teacher’s task is to explain the rules for children. Part Four. Reflection “Two little birds” | ||||||
Stage 5 | -to reinforce the knowledge of the words | 6 minutes | Guest asks that children know a song about two little birds. Let’s sing it. Two little birds sitting on a wall One named Peter, one named Paul. Fly away Peter! Fly away Paul! Come back Peter! Come back Paul! Guest says that she spend a good time and comes back again. Teacher ends the lesson with the words: “Children, our lesson is over. Thank you for the lesson.” Teacher gives some “marks” and says goodbye to children. | Group work (imitation) | Teacher’s task is to train vocabulary with children with a help of poem.
