Try to guess the topic of our lesson. Watch the video. …… Yes, the topic of our lesson is “Dishes of different countries”. (“Cooking travelling” is written on the board.) Good. So, today we are going to visit different countries.

So, today we are going to talk about food. We are going to read and listen to some information, we’ll learn new words, we’ll make up the dialogues “At the café”. Now tell me, please, what you will be able to do at the end of our lesson. You have some pieces of paper. Write down your ideas and stick them to the board. (Students write I think that… or I’ll be able to…. use the information from the book, learn new words, speak about food in different countries,……)

Look at the board, please. You see the word-cloud. Name the words you know (Yorkshire pudding, muesli, black pudding, fish and chips,…..) and give their definitions.

You see that there are a lot of words with the sounds [t], [d]. Be very attentive to pronounce these sounds correctly. Your tongue needs to touch the tooth ridge to stop the air. Then you move your tongue away and release the air. There is a small explosion of air out of the mouth.

8. Этап развития навыков диалогической речи «Atacafé”.

Now we’ll spend some time in Italy and have dinner at a very popular Italian café “The Sun Café”. Students watch the video “At a café” and then act out similar dialogues using the menu from cafes. (background café sounds are playing) Students speak several times and each time change the partner.

Учащиеся составляют диалог по образцу и проигрывают его. «Официанты» стоят в ряд, напротив них стоят «посетители» кафе. После каждого проигрывания диалога «посетители» перемещаются вправо на шаг, таким образом меняя партнера. Диалог повторяется столько раз, пока все ученики не поговорят друг с другом. Во время разговора звучит музыка (звуки кафе/ресторана).

Учащиеся пишут на листочках любые слова по теме «Еда» и кладут их сверху на листок с таблицей. Затем составляют предложения, в которых должны прозвучать все три слова, записанные по диагонали, вертикали, горизонтали.
