1. (1m) Hello! Boys and girls! Welcome to our English lesson.
2. (2m) Please, look at the screen, read the sentence and say what it is about.

3. (5m). Let’s remember the names of some gadgets. Look at the words and fill in the missing letters into the gaps.

(We can’t use a mower, because we have no lawns. We can’t use a dishwasher, an automatic washing machine, because we have no running water in our houses)
10. But I’m sure that many women in our village want to have these household appliances. Can you tell me why?

11. (2m) Now we must have a bit of exercising to relax our body parts and have a rest for our eyes.

12. (1m) Let’s continue our lesson.
As you see living conditions in towns and in the country differ. You know that Evenks people live in the forest most of the year. Some lessons ago you were divided into three groups according to your interests and wish to make projects about living conditions in the forest in the past, at present and in the future. Let’s listen to the story about living conditions in the forest in the past. Be ready to answer to the questions on the story.
(Project “The forest Tent”) (Slides 12-26)
13. (5m) The Evenks have herded reindeers for centuries uncounted. From early childhood they have been living in the forest in the forest house. It is a tent. They make a tent their home because it is easy to put up and to pack. It is not heavy and it doesn’t take a lot of space while transporting. But the forest tents differ from usual tents. First it has no bottom which can serve as a floor. Instead of it Evenks put small sticks of larch on the ground. They keep the ground in the tent dry and give a pretty smell. In the middle of the tent there is always a small iron stove. It can quickly warm the tent and Evenks cook meals on it. Also they have a small table on short legs and a box for dishes. Near the stove there is a special block for candles. If there are small children in the family you will see a baa. It is an excellent invention of Evenks. The baa can serve both as a cradle and as a child chair. It is always made of wood. Sometimes Evenks make a play pan for small children in order to keep them from burns. They have no beds in tents; they sleep on reindeers furs, because furs do not let the cold in. There are no things for entertainment besides books. Evenks like reading. As you can see all the things in the tent are not big or heavy, they do not take a lot of space while travelling. And there are no modern house appliances there. But Evenks have got used to living in the tents with loyal huskies following the reindeers to patches of lichen. They can’t imagine their life without reindeers which pull sleds, give food and clothes; their furs warm Evenks in winter. They are happy here with their reindeers. Here in the forest they live in harmony with nature.
14. (3m) Why do Evenks people make a tent their home?

15. (3m) Now the second group will present their project about the living conditions in the forest tent in our time. Listen to them and guess what gadget is the most useful one.

Today living conditions in the forest tent have changed greatly. We can use a compact power station in the forest. It is not big and not heavy; it is mobile and does not need much petrol. It produces electricity and that’ why it gives the opportunity to use other gadgets.
First we can lighten our tents at dark time of the day.
Second we can use PC to watch films, to listen music, to play different games, to read books, to make and watch photos, to prepare reports.
Besides we can use the satellite mobile telephone because it is possible to charge it at any time. Satellite mobile telephone makes it possible to communicate with anyone and anywhere; what is very important in the forest.

The future forest house will be bigger and higher then present tents. It will be made of very light and very strong materials. It will be automatically put up and packed. There will be solar batteries on the roof of the house. That’s why we will be able to lighten our tents at dark time of the day. Besides it will be possible to use a conditioner to warm and to cool the forest house. Meals will be cooked on the compact electric stove. There also will be a computer to watch films, to listen music, to play different games, to read books, to make and watch photos, to prepare reports.
