-Good morning students. I`m very glad to see you. How are you today?

-Sit down please. Let`s begin our lesson with some questions as usual: -What is the weather like today?

-What was the weather like yesterday?

-What did you do yesterday? Did you go to school ? Did you clean the house?

-Good morning. We are fine. Thank you.

-It is cold and snowy.

-It was frosty and sunny.

-Yesterday I went to school, cleaned the house and listened to the music.

This stage helps the teacher to establish a contact with the class, to prepare students for acquiring English speech and to create a positive, friendly atmosphere.

-Now we are going to continue our topic “Weather”. Read the text(p.95,ex.3) please and write down underlined words.

-Let`s translate them.

-Find the answer to my question “What is the weather like in Moscow in spring, in autumn, in winter and in summer?” and ask your partner about it.

-the weather is changeable-погодаизменчивая; it is frosty-морозно; It is foggy-туманно; it is warm- тепло etc.

-What is the weather like in Russia in winter?-In Russia it is usually very cold in winter.

-What is the weather like in Russia in summer?-In summer it is sunny, often cloudy and rainy.

Students acquire new vocabulary which is necessary for following listening and speaking. Students improve their reading skills and ability to work in pair.

-Now you will hear 4 speakers, talking about the weather in their town. Listen and complete the table(p.95,ex.4) : the weather in Mexico, London, New York, Berlin and Paris. You will hear it twice.

-Let`s check it in a chain

-In London winter is cool. Summer days are usually rainy and foggy. It is often warm in autumn.

-In Paris it is often warm in summer. Winter months are cool. Etc.

The stage of listening helps students to learn new vocabulary, to improve their listening skills and prepares them for speaking activity.

-Now we are going to play a game. You will get a card with the name of the Russian cities and your task to prepare your weather forecast for week. You have 4 minutes to prepare 4 or 6 sentences.

- Are you ready? Ok, go to the blackboard you can show your city on the map. Let`s start.

-Good evening dear friends. I will present you the weather forecast in Samara. In Samara this week is cold. From Monday to Wednesday it is frosty and sometimes sunny. On Thursday it is snowy and cloudy . On Friday the weather is sunny and cool. Etc.

After listening stage is necessary for using the items in a real speech.
