In recent years, computer technologies have moved beyond the highly specialized environment of the scientific and technical process and have become an integral part of everyday life. Information and communication technologies have changed the information space of modern man both in nature, content, volume, and in the degree of impact. However, along with the positive aspects of the use of information and communication technologies, there are also disturbing trends.
Unfortunately, in the conditions of modern life, teenagers fall into the traps of various addictions. The use of alcohol and drugs among young people, despite the ongoing promotion of a healthy lifestyle, is still at a very high level. Another danger lies in the excessive dependence of teenagers on the computer - the Internet, games, social networks.
Computers are now in most modern apartments and it is already difficult for us to imagine how to do without these buzzing assistants-to study, work, have fun.
Instant data transfer and search for the necessary information, support for communication with friends, shopping, games, movies and much,much more-all these are achievements of modern technologies that humanity enjoys using.
However, this situation also has a downside - excessive computer addiction gradually undermines physical and intellectual health, destroys the nervous system and eventually makes a computer-dependent person not only sick, but also lonely.
Modern social networks, online computer games, the ability to join any, even the most taboo information in society using the Internet, as if specially created for teenagers, whose nervous system has not yet fully strengthened.
The computer and the Internet fully satisfy these needs of a young person, who with their help can become anyone in their virtual space. In addition, in adolescence, ideas about morality, good and evil are formed, which can be significantly distorted under the influence of the information flow from the computer and TV.
This is not only a violation of vision and posture, the work of internal organs, for example, a noise in the heart of a child, tachycardia, pressure disorders, but also social isolation, and in extreme cases - mental disorders. The signs of Internet addiction in adolescents are as follows:
The child spends most of the time at the computer, forgetting to distract himself with food and sleep;
Due to the hobbies of virtual reality, his academic performance in school decreases; The teenager prefers virtual communication, leaves the house little, he has almost or no friends;
The interests of a teenager are limited only to the hobby of the computer. You notice that the teenager has become more irritable, or vice versa, shows indifference to others.
Research by mental health professionals on Internet addiction began as early as 1996, but agreement on the name of the term, criteria, and methods of diagnosis has not yet been reached.
However, regardless of what name is used to describe the phenomenon of Internet habit, the existence of a person's dependence on the Internet is beyond doubt. Addiction exists if a person's behavior, aimed at achieving a sense of joy and getting rid of any psychological burden, is out of his control. A person gradually ceases to control his behavior and craving for the Internet, despite its negative consequences.
Unlike adults, teenagers develop computer addiction many times faster. Computer addiction in adolescents can develop due to the fact that their psyche is still being formed, their interests fluctuate.
We have unlimited access to almost any information. A whole stream of useful, useless and completely unnecessary information is poured out on us via the Internet. And if adults cope with this with difficulty, then children can not control this process at all.
Some children are so fascinated by the virtual world that it becomes much more attractive over time than real life. Computer games replace live communication. Here you can hide from problems and feel like a hero! Therefore, often quiet guys who can not realize themselves in school or in the team, find an outlet in computer games. So the child not only does not solve their problems, but also stops in development. Bright graphics, dynamic music, a sense of full presence - all these factors in computer games are not only incredibly attractive to teenagers, but also contribute to the development of addiction and dependence on them. And gradually, for a child, an ordinary game can turn into the meaning of life.
Children in so-called problem families, where there are frequent conflicts and misunderstandings on the part of parents, are more likely to develop computer addiction. Through games, they can get away from the unfavorable situation at home, assert themselves, get the emotions that are missing in real life. Constantly experiencing failures in real life, children have the opportunity to feel like winners in a fictional world.
However, this is just a temporary escape from the problem. Turning off the computer, they again return to reality, where they are waiting for unresolved problems and to this are added the reproaches of adults. In the absence of special interests, hobbies and hobbies in life, children can find all this in games, without leaving the computer table.
Adolescence acts as an important moment of social development, which has a special burden in the formation of a person. Intensive development and saturation of the child's social position "I and society" is provided by non-paid activities that are useful to society, because in it the teenager gets opportunities not only to draw attention to himself, to express himself, but also to see his " I " in the evaluation of other people, to feel that society recognizes him. This is the mechanism for developing the social position of a teenager in relation to society, acting as a starting point, the necessary internal conditions.
Thus, the following features are characteristic of adolescence: puberty and uneven physiological development, which cause emotional instability and sharp mood swings; change in the social situation of development: transition from dependent childhood to independent and responsible adulthood; change in the leading activity: educational activity is replaced by intimate and personal communication with peers; discovery and affirmation of one's "I", the search for one's own place in the system of human relationships; self-knowledge through opposition to the world of adults and through a sense of belonging to the world of peers. This helps the teenager to find his own values and norms, to form his own idea of the world around him; the appearance of a "sense of adulthood", the desire of the teenager to recognize his "adulthood". At this age, teenagers tend to free themselves from emotional dependence on their parents.
