"Праздники англоязычных стран"

Конспект занятия
Изучение иностранного языка невозможно без соприкосновения с культурой, традициями и историей страны изучаемого языка. Культура и язык — неразрывные части единого целого. Целью воспитательного мероприятия по английскому языку «Праздники англоязычных стран» является развитие коммуникативной компетенции, актуализация страноведческого материала, расширение лингвистического кругозора учащихся.

Вступительное слово учителя

Teacher:

Good morning, boys and girls. Today we’re going to speak about holidays in English-speaking countries. So, every country and nation has their own traditions and customs. It's very important to know traditions and customs of different people, especially if we want to know their language. We can't say: "We know English", if we do not know English traditions.

Do you agree with me?

Right now I would like to ask you some questions:

What holidays do people celebrate in our country?

Tell me what is your favorite holiday?

P1 New Year.

P2 Christmas.

P3  International Women’s Day

P4 Victory Day

P5 Day of Knowledge

What British holidays do you know?

-  New   Year                                    -  Easter

-  Christmas                                      -  Halloween

-  St   Valentine’s   Day                    - Guy   Fawkes   Night

- Boxing Day

Now let me introduce myself. My name is Margret. My name is Victoria. We will be your stewards. He’s_Salvatore. He will be our pilot.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! This is pilot speaking. I’d like to welcome you on board Donetsk Airline. We’re going to travel in some English-speaking countries – the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Australia.

Keep your seatbelt fastened all the time

Don’t smoke

Don’t interrupt each other.

Magret:Five, four, three, two, one. Blast off! The first country of our trip is the USA.

Witch: It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full and bright.
And we can see what can’t be seen

On any other night!

They knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen,

It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!

Voice: Do not take my bloody oranges! Go away!

Father: I need these oranges and I’ll take them. Go away! I’m not afraid of you.

Учащиеся исполняют песню «Halloween”

Halloween, Halloween

Creepy, crawly Halloween

Trick or treating all in fun

October 31st has come

Halloween, Halloween

Spooky, kooky Halloween

Kids in costumes, what a sight

On Halloween tonight

Big black cats

Vampire bats

Ghosts and goblins out tonight

Causing quite a fright

Halloween, Halloween

Painted faces, what a scene

Door to door they trick or treat

For something sweet to eat.

Canada. Mother’s Day.

St 3: Mother is the most important person in the life of everyone. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of May each year. Some people give cards, flowers, or chocolates or make handmade items or special meals on Mother’s Day.

St 4: This holiday was suggested by Anna Jarvis. There is a tradition to wear a red flower if one’s mother is living and a white flower if one’s mother is dead.

There is a popular saying: “God cannot be present everywhere and so he created mothers”

Teacher: The day before his birthday the baby asked God:

Baby: Tomorrow I’ll be send to the Earth. How will I live there? I am so small and helpless…

God: I’ll give you an angel…who will be take care of you.

Baby: Here I am smiling and laughing. Is it enough for my happiness?

God: Your angel will sing and smile for you.

Baby: But how will I understand him? I don’t know the language he’s speaking.

God: Your angel will put your hands together and teach you to pray.

Baby: There is evil on the Earth. Who will protect me?

God: Your angel will protect you.

Baby: I’ll be sad because I’ll not be able to see you

God: Your angel will tell you everything about me.

Baby: What’s the name of my angel?

God: You will call him MOTHER
